My work starts with experiment to reproduce a production method by my hand.
If the method require any manufacturing machines, I simplify and reconstruct the machines so that I can handle them.
Through this experiment, I'm able to learn the schemes of things and figure out the essences of things. It means that the experiment broadens my perspectives.
Finally, I find some uncontrollable points, which were caused by material's features, imperfection of the method I reproduced, or environmental conditions.
Most of these points are closely relat with the essences I figured out through the experiment.
In our daily life, these points are often outside of our attentions because they don't look having any remarkable functions and lots are hidden as unnecessary things by designers.
I try to show people these essential but invisible points as the outcomes of the experiments. And I'd like to discuss with people about the points. I believe this dialogue makes people interested in the schemes of things and helps to see the essences of things around ourselves.
