２つのフレームのスリットに木板を差し込み、フレームを八の字に開くことで自立させる。この構造は簡易テーブルの構造として広く利用されている。フレームと木板が支え合うことによって生まれる均衡と、特徴的な八の字の構成に魅力を感じた。

フレームと木板の均衡は１方向には強いが、別の方向には不安定な特徴がある。木板を２枚にすることでフレームと木板の均衡が２方向に強くなり、その構造がより強固になることを発見した。​２枚目の木板に背もたれの役割を持たせ、椅子として利用することを試みた。

Fitting a wooden board into the slits on two frames and tilting the frames into V shape, we can easily set up a table. This "V shape structure" has a good balance between the three parts and the V shape is characteristic.

The balance of V shape structure is strong for one direc-tion but unstable for other directions. Therefore, I having fitted two wooden boards into a frames each in different directions, the balance got strong for two directions.

I used this new structure for a chair and the additional wooden board had the function of a chair back.
