いったい僕らは何をしているのか。。。

その昔、人々は豊かで便利な生活に憧れを抱き、企業はその期待に応えるべく直向きに『プロダクト』を生産していった。

​

プロダクトデザイナーと称される人々は色とりどりのカラーペンを巧みに操り、白紙の紙の上に流れるようなフォルムをものの数秒でつくりあげ、人々はその魔法に胸を躍らせていた。。。

​

かつてはそんな時代が存在した。

そして先人の努力により、生活は豊かになった。

​

時代は変わり、街にはモノが溢れている。デザインに携わることを志す者たちが、昔のようにただイイ感じなスケッチを描くことに専念していれば生活に困らない。。。なんて時代は終わってしまった。

​

更に、モノがたくさんあるからといって「満足か？」と問われるとそうでもない。

この感覚はなんなのか？？

”ENDEMIC”は、在学中、京都市の端っこの端っこで、誰かの決めた社会の流れに囚われることなく、モノを生み出すことや「デザイン」という行為と真正面から向き合いながら、今後どのように生きていけばよいのか一心不乱に模索していたふたり（笠松 祥平と仲 克駿）が、卒業後も引き続き、もがき生きあぐねているありさまです。

In the past, makers manufactured many kinds of things earnestly to meet people's demand to make their lives more convenient and richer.

Manipulating colorful pens, workers called "product designer" drew a flowing curved form on a white paper within a few seconds. And people got really excited about their technique like a magic...

​

The time have changed.

Our lives have been convenient and rich thanks to predecessors' exertions.

​

The town is overflowing with things. The days are over when people who want to be a designer live by just drawing a nice sketch.

​

Besides, even if there are a lot of things, it's hard to say that we are satisfied.

What on earth is this feeling ??

​This exhibition, "ENDEMIC," is two guys' way of life. The two of them (Shohei Kasamatsu and Kazuma Naka) have been facing an act of design and making things head-on, without being bound by a social norm somebody decided. And they have been exploring how they live in future.
