普段、私たち４人は職業として ”プロダクトデザイン”の領域に身を置いています。
それは、斬新で、独自であり、模倣されにくいことを重要とし、その背景やすぐ隣の存在が見えにくくなるような世界です。
しかし、「ものをつくる」ことの意義とはそのようなものでしょうか。
私たちが日々の生活の中で、最も人々の創造性が発揮されていると感じるのは、商業的な役割以前の、生活の術を学ぶような、世界を知りたいという欲求に突き動かされるような行為です。
その実践を通して、文脈を読み解き、すぐ隣にあるが認識できなくなった存在たちを結び直すような対話が生まれると考えます。
現在から未来へと一方的に速度を上げることだけではなく、領域をまたぎ周遊し続けることで、私たちひとりひとりが孤立せずに、視座を高めていくことができるはずです。
本展示「Things with dialogue」はそうした周遊を、オブジェクト・家具・写真などを通して、実用的にまたはエクササイズ的に形にする試みです。
The four of us work in the field of "product design."
In this field, it is the most important to be new, original and not imitable. Because of this, designers tend to disregard schemes of things and entities that are right next to us.
What is really important for "making things ?"
In our daily lives, there is what we feel the greatest expression of people's creativity. It's a practice to learn arts of living or unravel schemes of things before its commercial role.
Through this practice, we believe a dialogue is created that deciphers the context and reconnects us to those entities that are right next to us but no longer recognizable.
It's not just a matter of accelerating the growth of our own fields isolatedly. By continuing to travel across fields, we will broaden our perspectives.
This exhibition, "Things with dialogue," is an attempt to give form to our travel across some fields in a practical or exercising way. There are various forms such as objects, furniture or photographs, and each have an inevitability.
